It’s often referred to as the Recruitment Rollercoaster. The highs and lows of working in recruitment – I even referred to it myself in this article on The Importance of a Positive Mindset in Recruitment.
But following Jeremy’s live coaching session yesterday, where he shared a story about someone he is currently working with, I thought that maybe that isn’t the best analogy. After all – the fun of a rollercoaster is the element of no control – the strap yourself in and see where the ride takes you. I don’t think this reflects the attitude or the right mindset to have when we encounter set backs in the recruitment process. How do we learn from it if we relinquish all control?
The recruiter who Jeremy spoke about found himself on Friday in the brilliant position of having two offers for two separate candidates.
Unfortunately, neither of these offers were accepted.
A great demonstration of the recruitment rollercoaster? Scream if you want to go faster!
Or, an opportunity to conduct a postmortem and find out where this went wrong?
Watch Jeremy’s whole answer here along with his great advice on how to achieve a successful outcome more frequently by beginning with the end in mind.
Every week Jeremy hosts a live coaching session as part of the Rookie2Recruiter programme.
